Peyton Manning has reached a lucrative deal with the Indianapolis Colts. The five-year contract is worth $90 million according to teamer owner Jim Irsay.
The Colts CEO said: “Signing Peyton was a top priority for this organization and we are thrilled that the deal is complete. We feel that it is a salary cap friendly deal and it allows us more flexibility.
The four-time MVP will now be able to report to training camp at Anderson University in central Indiana, but will start out on the ‘physically unable to perform’ list while he continues to undergo daily rehab from the Colt’s medical team.
The quarterback underwent a second neck surgery to relieve pain caused by a pinched nerve, characterized as a disk-related issue, toward the end of May.
The NFL player is poised to make NFL history on his next touchdown pass. He is currently at 399 and will join soon Brett Favre and Dan Marino as the only players with 400 or more touchdown passes.
Peyton and his wife Ashley Manning welcomed twins in March 2011.
