The nominations were announced this morning for the 84th Annual Academy Awards. The show will air live February 26 on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
Landing in the coveted Best Picture category are: The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse.
Actor in a Leading Role nods went to George Clooney – The Descendants, Brad Pitt – Moneyball, Demian Bichir – A Better Life, Gary Oldman – Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, Jean Dujardin – The Artist.
Actress in a Leading Role nominees are Viola Davis – The Help, Glenn Close – Albert Nobbs, Rooney Mara – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Meryl Streep – The Iron Lady, Michelle Williams – My Week with Marilyn.
The Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role nods held a few surprises. We’re delighted to see Jonah Hill and Melissa McCarthy named:
