Former ER actor Noah Wyle was arrested Monday in Washington D.C. during a healthcare protest on Capitol Hill.
The celebrity joined 100 people from the group ADAPT to take a stand against proposed Medicaid cuts.
ADAPT believes that federal cuts in Medicaid will force the elderly into nursing homes because the services that they would get at home would no longer be available.
After his released Wyle released a statement: “Today, I took part in an effort by ADAPT to bring attention to the Medicaid cuts that have been made by many States and are threatening to be made on a Federal level. This issue is about Civil Rights not about medicine.”
People magazine got the photo of Wyle in handcuffs.
Last month former fellow ER co-star George Clooney was handcuffed and arrested during a Washington D.C. Sudan protest.
