It didn’t take NBC long to ditch its newest comedy. After just two episodes of The Paul Reiser Show, the network pulled the plug.
The semi-autobiographical comedy series was written by stand-up comic Paul Reiser, and was recently inserted into the Thursday at 8:30 p.m. time slot as a mid-season replacement for Perfect Couples.
The former Mad About You star drew only 3.3 million viewers and was panned by television critics during the premiere episode on April 14. The following week viewers had dwindled to 2.5 million.
Rather than air any more of the taped shows, the network will fill the 30-minute spot with reruns of The Office for the remainder of the season.
