Ed Winter of the L.A. Coroner’s Office sent Lindsay Lohan packing after she arrived forty minutes late for her first day of community service.

The Assistant Chief Coroner indicated that the actress was given explicit instructions on where to report, and was cautioned to arrive before her 8:00 a.m. start time.

In court yesterday, Lohan was strongly encouraged to serve 16 hours of her community service at the L.A. Morgue over the course of the next two weeks. A hearing on November 4 is scheduled to determine whether she will be sentenced to jail for violating her probation.

According to Winter, when Lohan did show up at 8:40 a.m. this morning, she had several excuses ready. She claimed she wasn’t clear on where to report, and the media had caused her further confusion.

The L.A. Morgue official, who were unimpressed with her litany, told her that she would not be allowed to work or get credit for showing up, and her tardiness would be reported to the Probation Department and to Judge Stephanie Sautner.

Lohan commented via Twitter, “With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I’ve never been so happy to go to therapy!!!! Also, I’m sorry for the confusion that I may have caused to those at the Coroner’s office. Won’t happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help.”
