Larry Hagman will reprise his role in a reboot of the popular 80’s series Dallas while battling cancer.
The actor, set to begin production on the new TNT drama next week, issued a statement, “I will be receiving treatment while working on the new Dallas series. I couldn’t think of a better place to be than working on a show I love, with people I love. Besides, as we all know, you can’t keep J.R. down.”
He went on to say, “I do want everyone to know that it is a very common and treatable form of cancer.”
In the 90’s the actor sought treatment for cancer and was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. The life threatening condition led to an organ transplant in 1995.
The actor will be joined by his former Dallas co-stars Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray as the Ewing family picks up where they left off. Check out a photo below:
