Kim Kardashian may be taking all the heat for her ill-fated 72-day marriage, but Kris Humphries is the one to blame, according to insiders.
As Humphries lawyers up and plans to sue for $10 million, reports are springing up that the out of work NBA player was the “husband from hell,” calling Kim “fat ass,” belittling her in front of people, and insulting her constantly.
“He tried to control Kim by bringing her down…He would say truly terrible things,” says one insider.
According to sources, 26-year-old Humphries took advantage of the perks of being married to his famous reality star wife — stayig out late at clubs and demanding free bottle service and more wherever he went.
And when Kim (who rarely drinks and tends to go to bed early) asked Kris to skip the nights out in favor of quality time, “He would tell her she was acting like too much of a wife and ‘get over it,'” another insider says.
As for Humprhies, he is claiming his role on Koutrney & Kim Take New York is bigger than he was told, and that’s why he wants more money. But according to the sources, “he’s really worried about how badly he’s going to be portrayed on the series.”
One scene in particular has Kris bullying Kim’s best friend, Jonathan Cheban, about his sexuality.”Jonathan isn’t gay, but Kris accuses him of being gay and criticizes him for it in a really homophobic way. Jonathan is really upset,” says a pal of Kim’s.
“Kris used the word ‘gay’ as an insult, to try and hurt Jonathan,” says an E! insider. “He’s the lowest of the low bullying someone like this.”
According to Kris, his family and his friends, much of his appearance on Kourtney & Kim was scripted — including scenes in which he ponders Jonathan’s sexuality — and that he’s not homophobic. “Little did Kris know that he was being set up,” his father, William Humphries, tells Life & Style magazine. “Kris got used –100 percent used.”
Kris has cashed in on his new-found fame as the spokesperson for Sector watches.
