Bogus headline claim has Kim K seeing red …
Kim Kardashian is furious over an In Touch cover story that claims she has been cheating on her fiance Kris Humphries, with NFL player Bret Lockett.
A lawyer, representing the interests of the reality star, fired off a demand letter. The contents, revealed by TMZ, indicate that the cheat allegations “are, at a minimum, damaging, defamatory, and an invasion of her privacy.”
The newly engaged Kardashian claims, through her rep., that she has never even met or spoken with Lockett. We believe her.
The In Touch story, set to appear in the latest magazine issue, quotes the New England Patriots safety: “I knew this was a game to her, and this is what she does. She pursued me.”
Kim K apparently plans to go after Lockett too. That didn’t stop the athlete from doing a live interview with TMZ this afternoon. He told Harvey Levin that In Touch contacted him, rather than the other way around. They told him they were ready to run the story and asked if he had anything to say.
As Levin continued to press for more details from the decidedly hesitant Lockett, he was able to pin down a few points of interest. Bret has phone records, text messages and pictures to prove he and Kim had a relationship.
Lockett further claims their interaction took place after she started seeing Kris Humphries, though he says he didn’t know that at the time.
On the question of whether Bret and Kim had a physical relationship, the athlete hesitated and stammered before affirming that it was indeed physical. He didn’t score any credibility points for the way he answered that particular question … and we remain unconvinced.
