Last week Kanye West jokingly tweeted a shout out to Britney Spears–
While most people saw the humor in West’s tweet, some media outlets suggested that he was attempting to start a Twitter war with the pop princess.
Kanye West went to the place where the joke originated to set the record straight — his Twitter page. He tweeted: “How can u “let” someone be number one??!! That was the whole joke!!! I know intelligent people know this so bear with me.”
The rapper continued: “When I said the comment about Britney, I was giving her props for being #1 – not dissing her at all! But stop making it seem that my aim is to hurt or down people! That’s just not my style. As pop stars we’re all in this shit together!”
Twitter rants are West’s specialty. Did he get a bad rap in this particular instance? We think he did. Let us know what you think.
