British singer Joss Stone can breath a bit easier now that two men, who were planning to cause her harm, are behind bars. Swords, rope and a body bag were all part of a plot to kidnap and kill the popular celebrity.
Neighbors called police after becoming suspicious of an unfamiliar red Fiat Punto driving slowly around the area.
Detective inspector Steve Parker said: “The men had information and items that led us to suspect that they may have intended to commit serious criminal offenses. They are now being detained on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to murder.”
The suspects, age 30 and 33, were found to be in possession of detailed maps and aerial photos of Stone’s estate.
The entertainer has amassed a fortune estimated at around $14 million. Her rep said, “Joss is aware of the arrests and police are keeping her updated with developments.”
She issued the following statement: “I’d like to thank everyone for their concern but I’m absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries.”
