Jonathan Rhys Meyers has had a very bad week. He was arrested on Sunday at a Dublin airport, was caught by a photographer on Tuesday drinking on a public street and now we find out that his mother has died.
Geraldine Meyers-O’Keeffe, 50, died yesterday at Mercy University Hospital in Cork, Ireland after a short illness.
The actor was very close to his mother Geraldine and is reported to be devastated by the loss. She raised Rhys Meyers and his brother Alan after their father walked out with two older siblings when the actor was three years old.
It now seems likely that the actors recent arrest may have been fueled by his mother’s medical condition.
