Saturday Night Live took aim at Tim Tebow‘s religious beliefs last night as Jimmy Fallon returned to his SNL roots to host for the first time.
In the sketch, Jesus (Jason Sudeikis) visits Tebow (Taran Killam) in the locker room and says he is the reason they have won the last six football games, bailing them out in the fourth quarter.
Tebow tells Jesus he prays before every game, and Jesus responds that Tebow should stretch and read the playbook before the game. Tebow responds, “the Bible is my playbook.”
Jesus says the team should really be thanking kicker Matt Prater, and tells the team that he prays to Prater, and when Prater says “wow, I didn’t know that,” Jesus responds, “That’s because I’m not in everyone’s face about it,” mocking Tebow, and telling him to take his public displays of faith down a notch.
