Days after winning season thirteen of Dancing with the Stars, military hero J.R. Martinez plans to strike while he’s still a hot commodity.
The motivational speaker is shopping a book and lining up acting auditions with the help of his agent Cynthia Snyder. She acknowledged, “He definitely wants to act.”
As for a book, Martinez has a dramatic story to tell about his 2003 deployment in Iraq. The Humvee he was driving hit a landmine and he was burned over 40 percent of his body. He has undergone 33 cosmetic and skin-grafting surgeries. While his story has been featured previously, Snyder claims the book will be “full of things people don’t know.”
J.R. and his pro dancing partner Karina Smirnoff won the mirror ball trophy on Tuesday night after narrowly beating out reality star Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke for the title.
The DWTS celeb has already tested his acting chops, with a stint on All My Children beginning in late 2008, when he was cast in the role of a returning Army veteran who saw combat in Iraq.
