Country pop phenom Taylor Swift turned 21 on Monday, December 13, 2010. She has come a long way since she made her first trip to Nashville ten years ago, hoping to get a record deal by distributing a demo tape to every label in town.
Though well known in local circles, it took the talented performer until 2006 to finally hit the national stage with the release of her debut hit single Tim McGraw.
Swift, currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhall, is known for the autobiographical nature of her songs. She famously remarked: “If you listen to my albums, it’s like reading my diary.” Her latest love will turn 30 on December 19.
Her latest body of work, Speak Now, recently made Billboard chart history.
