Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill appeared this morning on TODAY to share news that they are expecting a baby this summer with the help of a surrogate.
The news comes on the heels of her breast cancer diagnosis last October that called a halt to their attempts to achieve a pregnancy with the help of IVF.
The Fashion Police co-host told Ann Curry, “It was pretty much one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life.”
An out of state surrogate mother is carrying their biological child and is not genetically related to the baby that she is carrying for the celebrity couple.
Giuliana would only say that the “baby mama” is married and has two children of her own. The couple will continue to visit her once a month and will take steps to safeguard her identity throughout the process.
They know the gender of their baby but they have opted to keep that to themselves for now.
