Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas announced today that she will write an “inspirational memoir” to be published by December 2012, just in time for stocking stuffers.

Her book, to be titled ‘Grace, Gold and Glory, My Leap of Faith,’ will cover her decision to embark on a 3,000 mile journey that separated her from her family in order to train for the 2012 London Games. We hate to give anything away … but we all know how that turned out!

Writing the story of her Olympic quest has been on Gabby’s radar for some time, “Even before I competed in the Olympics, I always wanted to write a book.”

It won’t be all about her sport. She admits, “It will also be about how much my family and I have overcome during our journey. It hasn’t been easy.”

Gabby hopes that those who read her story will begin to realize that “anything is possible.”

Douglas was honored this week to lead the Pledge of Allegiance on the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. She then led a panel on “Kid’s Health Goes Gold” with several of her U.S. Olympic teammates.
