The amazing Elizabeth Taylor Collection will be sold over a four-day period from December 13-16 by Christie’s Auction House at Rockefeller Center in New York.
Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor died of congestive heart failure earlier this year at the age of 79. Her family has commissioned the famed London auction house to liquidate Taylor’s jewelry and memorabilia from her 50 year Hollywood career.
We’ve heard rumblings that soccer star David Beckham is very interesting in purchasing some of the jewelry from the nearly 400 item collection.
With a net worth of $175 million, Beckham can certainly afford a bauble or two for his wife Victoria Beckham, who just made him a very happy man with the birth of their daughter Harper.
Premiere pieces include what is famously known as the Elizabeth Taylor Ring, a 33.19 carat D Color flawless that was given to her by husband Richard Burton. Its estimated value is between $2.5-$3.5 million. Another glitzy gift from another husband is the Mike Todd diamond tiara circa 1880, estimated to be worth $80,000 in 1957.
The collection, reportedly worth $200 million, will be on display in Hollywood from October 13-16 at MOCA Pacific Design Center on Melrose Avenue. Other travel stops have included Moscow, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Geneva.
Part of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation.
