Steve Frye has filed a lawsuit against the iconic Playboy facility in Holmby Hills. The gentleman in question claims that the mansion operates under a double standard.
It was an annual Leather Meets Lace function that triggered the litigation. It seems that Frye became disgruntled after learning that the beautiful women at the party were not required to pay the $1,000 price of admission that guys were charged.
Now he’s crying foul over what he considers blatant sex discrimination and has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the men who have paid the large admittance price. Actually some of the not-so-pretty female guests were also charged the steep fee to partake and may find their interests represented as well.
The legal doc’s cite preferential treatment that “promotes harmful, negative stereotypes.”
Playboy Enterprises International, Inc., owner of the grounds, claims they aren’t the ones who make the event rules. They rent out the place to others who impose the pay structure at the door.
They state, “The undisputed facts show that Playboy did not set or charge the allegedly discriminatory pricing, nor did it aid or incite the pricing decision by the event promoter.”
