Scary stuff! Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson received a threatening letter on Tuesday. There was also white powder in the envelope that was mailed to him at the CBS Television City studio in Hollywood.

The letter claimed that the white powder was anthrax. Police took the threat seriously, quarantining CBS staff members while carrying out an investigation. The mystery substance was later ruled harmless.

LAPD’s Major Crimes Unit, with the help of federal authorities, will continue to investigate the origin of the letter.

Craig took to his Twitter page after the scare, “Ack! Someone mailed my show white powder & claimed it was anthrax. I’m not a big fan of that sort of thing.”

Last night Ferguson talked about it on his show, “It was a very scary situation. In the old days, if someone sent me white powder, I’d have said, ‘Yeah!’ I’d have snorted it… But nowadays, white powder in the mail is bad.”

Late Show host David Letterman used his monologue earlier this week to joke about his own recent jhadist death threat.
