It’s been 25 years since the Chicago Playboy Club closed the doors. First opened in the 1960’s, Playboy CEO Scott Flanders confirms that they will reopen just a few blocks away from the original facility.
The new club will feature a “very high-end, exclusive restaurant and lounge. It’s not going to be another steakhouse or Italian restaurant. It will be an exclusive offering that works now and will work 10 years from now.”
The club will be open to the public, but will also offer VIP memberships with access to VIP tables, private events, members-only events and invitations to key events that will be held periodically.
Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner closed the chain of cocktail lounges in 1991 when profits dwindled. In 2006 lounges attached to casinos or hotels were reopened in Las Vegas, London, Macau and Cancun.
The requisite scantily clad Playboy Bunnies will play a big role at the 10,000 to 15,000 square foot Chicago club. A casting call will be scheduled to find 50 lovely women who will represent the brand in their sexy suits.
NBC will premiere The Playboy Club starring Amber Heard and Eddie Cibrian on September 19. Check out the preview video below:
