The Celebrity Apprentice 4 finale aired on Sunday, May 22, 2011. The final two contestants, actress Marlee Matlin and country star John Rich, faced off in their final competition.

It was the biggest season yet, according to Donald Trump. This season’s sixteen celebrities were whittled down until only two remained. For 12 weeks, they played the game harder and smarter than the rest.

The pair were tasked with putting together a Retro campaign for 7Up. Part one of the task aired last Sunday … check it out here.

Matlin has been playing this season for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Her event featured the Harlem Globetrotters and a 70’s theme. Ivanka Trump told her father that the event was seamless from start to finish.

Rich’s event showcased Def Leppard and an 80’s theme. There was also a surprise appearance by Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame. John raised $275,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the event, despite the fact that it wasn’t a fundraising task.

The country star made a misstep when he introduced Def, and then went backstage to discover that the band wasn’t set to perform for another 15 minutes. With some quick thinking, he came back on stage and performed during the void.

7Up was so pleased with the can designs that they have opted to roll out both for distribution as part of their new ad campaign.

Back in the Boardroom, Trump told the group that they set a record this season for raising over $3 million for various charities. Matlin raised $1 million for her charity during a single task.

Marlee and John performed a song together. Rich sang and Marlee signed the music in front of a live studio audience.
