Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight earlier this week that originated in Oakland and was bound for Burbank, when the flight attendant decided that his droopy drawers didn’t pass muster.

He hit Twitter to share the news with his followers, “Just got kicked off a Southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the F**k? No joke!”

Witnessing the entire event was San Francisco 7Live Associate Producer Cindy Qiu, who had a great deal to say about the situation.

She said, “Basically, all the passengers were already seated, we were ready to go, they had already told us to start to turn our cellphones off.”

At that point, Qiu said that the flight attendant approached Armstrong and told him to pull his pants up. He responded, “Don’t you have better things to do than worry about that?”

The flight attendant repeated the request and threatened to have him removed if he didn’t comply. Armstrong said, “I’m just trying to get to my f**king seat.”

The Green Day musician and his traveling companion were then escorted off the plane.

Southwest has since issued this statement: “As soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this customer’s experience. He elected to take the next flight… The situation was resolved to his satisfaction.”
