American Horror Story Season 4 Episode 1 proves, once again, that Jessica Lange deserves every single award she’s ever been given for this anthology.
Elsa Mars is one of the weirdest women on television, but there’s something sort of heartbreaking about her, too.
She wants to be a star but knows her chances for that are dwindling, so she curates this group of freaks in order to pursue her own dreams. Meanwhile, she’s a “freak” herself having been born with no legs, or losing them somehow. What happened to her remains to be seen.
They all just think she’s bringing them together to be a family. They should probably know better, but they want so badly to belong it doesn’t matter to them if her reasons for caravaning them around are impure.
That’s the first place they’ve all felt like they belonged.
They’ll kill for one another and then hack the body to pieces if it means protecting their family.
Where is this season going? Who knows! Are we excited to find out!?! I sure am.
