Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers will take the field on Thursday night as his Super Bowl championship team kicks off the NFL season in a contest against the New Orleans Saints.

Rodgers will go up against Drew Brees at Lambeau, where emotions are sure to be running high, with the hometown crowd still basking in the glory of their Super Bowl XLV win on February 6, 2011.

The real story of the week was a comment made by Rodgers during his weekly radio show in Milwaukee. He took the opportunity to knock the recent GQ photo spread featuring New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez in the publication’s September issue.

The 2011 Super Bowl MVP said, “Look at this. This is embarrassing. Page 94 of the GQ thing here. That’s terrible.” He went on to say, “It’s just not really my style. I like my anonymity. I like my privacy… In the off season I just want to be able to do what I want to do and not have to be in the public eye.”

The photo Rodgers was referring to showed the NFL athlete in dark glasses, white skinny pants and a black tank top with a fur coat slung over one shoulder.

Sanchez responded, “I think he was, obviously, making a joke out of it, and that’s fine, giving me a good ribbing like the guys on our team. That’s totally understandable.”

This isn’t his first GQ shoot. The NFLer posed with Estee Lauder model Hilary Rhoda for some sexy pics back in 2009.
