Watch out, world! Mellie Grant is back and scheming, all thanks to Bitsy Cooper, the former First Lady who ran the country while her President husband was busy diddling his secretary twice a day.

Mellie can’t relate to that AT ALL, right!?!?

Scandal Season 4 Episode 6 was pretty much as good as it gets these days in terms of allowing small players to have bigger roles in the goings on of both OPA and the White House.

David Rosen out-Poped Olivia Pope, albeit by accident, and Abby stood up to both Fitz and Cyrus.

Early on in Scandal Season 1, Mellie Grant was a woman with ambition. At one point, she had Hillary Clinton-esque aspirations of one day running for public office herself, and she’d actually be pretty good at politics, too.

She already is. She’s cutthroat and heartless and, well, yeah, she’d get shit done.

At the behest of Bitsy Cooper, whose lament about her time in the White House was that she ran the country while her husband got the credit, Mellie publicly denies a rumor that Fitz plans to close military bases around the world.

That is going to come back to bite them in the ass, for sure. But not before Rowan Pope gets to Fitz.

Fitz had Jake in custody and Olivia demanded to see him. After allowing her to see Jake, Fitz had Jake transferred to Rowan’s custody. Rowan has no plans for Jake except to kill him because he couldn’t just play nice in the sandbox.

(Like Rowan ever would have just played nice…)

Olivia dangles a “hope” carrot in front of Fitz and like that! Jake is no longer Rowan’s concern. Rowan isn’t happy. Not that we thought he would be.
