The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were filled with unforgettable moments and one amusing stunt had Julia Louis-Dreyfus delivering Amy Poehler‘s acceptance speech.

The talented actresses were both nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Julia took home the Emmy for her role on HBO’s new series ‘Veep.’

On her way up to the podium Julia stopped for a quick embrace with Poehler and an ‘accidental’ exchange of acceptance speeches.

When she hit the stage the ‘Veep’ celeb told the crowd, “Thank you so much, I am a bit overwhelmed. First of all, I’d like to thank NBC, Parks and Rec, my beautiful boys Archie and Abel.”

Then the camera panned to Amy, who feigned surprise and quickly ran to the stage to give Julia the crumbled up speech that she held in her own hand.

JLD ended her real acceptance speech with one more trumped up attempt at humor, “Isn’t it a shame Amy Poehler didn’t win … what?” The camera focused on the ‘Parks and Rec’ celeb who was holding a pencil and giving a wry smile from her seat in the front row.

It seems likely that had Amy picked up the win, she’d have been reading Julia’s speech. The bit was cleaver even if it was staged but it does raise the question … were all of the women in this category in on this joke or did only a few of them have insider info?
