‘The Daily Show’ won Outstanding Variety Series at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night and host Jon Stewart offered up a comment that you saw but failed to hear.
That really is the beauty of the f-bomb. Even when bleeped by the censors, you can still get the full effect of what the person is trying to convey.
After a staged scuffle with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon, an out of breath Stewart hit the microphone and remarked, “I’m not in the kind of shape I should be in to do a bit with Jimmy Fallon! Years from now, when the Earth is just a burning husk and aliens visit, they will find a box of these and they will know just how predictable these f—ing awards shows are!”
Stewart also acknowledged during his acceptance speech that his show deals in topical comedy, “which has the shelf life of egg salad.”
