Veteran actress Kathy Bates recently underwent a double mastectomy following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
The 64-year-old celeb is an ovarian cancer survivor who learned several weeks ago that she is now battling another form of cancer.
Kathy told PEOPLE, “Luckily, I don’t have to undergo radiation or chemo. My family calls me Kat because I always land on my feet, and thankfully this is no exception.”
Bates vows that she will attend the Emmy Awards on Sept. 23, where she could walk away with two of the coveted trophies. She received an Emmy nod for her ghost appearance on ‘Two and a Half Men’ and another for her lead role in the recently canceled television drama series ‘Harry’s Law.’
