Sports commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler collapsed last night while performing his duties at a WWE Raw event in Montreal, Quebec.
The 62-year-old suffered a heart attack that caused him to fall out of his chair at the broadcast table. He was rushed from the Bell Centre to a nearby hospital.
Jerry was breathing on his own but fellow announcer Michael Cole told the audience that the situation was serious. “We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.”
Despite his age, Lawler still wrestles an average of twice a week. He gained fame in the 80’s by getting into the ring with actor and performance artist Andy Kaufman in what was billed at the time as a famous feud.
