Tom Brokaw was rushed to a North Carolina hospital Thursday morning following an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

The 72-year-old NBC News special correspondent is in Charlotte covering the Democratic National Convention. He was feeling light-headed and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Brokaw, who has been keeping a grueling schedule, was evaluated and released from the hospital. He later tweeted that he had accidentally taken the sleep aid Ambien.

NBC News president Steve Capus issued a statement, saying, “After medical evaluation and a round of tests, Tom was pronounced in great health and has been discharged. We’re immensely grateful to the team at Carolinas Medical Center for their excellent care and professionalism.”
