It looks like the cat is out of the bag at ABC. After more than six months of speculation Michael Strahan has reportedly been picked to join Kelly Ripa on ‘Live!’
The former New York Giants defensive end won’t be officially announced until Sept. 4, but word is spreading like wild fire that Strahan’s rep left the building where the show is produced on 67th and Columbus in Manhattan, and he was grinning from ear to ear.
The 6’5″ athlete is 40 and resides in Rutherford, New Jersey. He tried out the seat formerly occupied by Regis Philbin in June and was apparently just what the network was looking for as a perfect foil for the petite blonde 41-year-old. The rest … as they say, is history.
TMZ got the inside scoop from a couple of staffers who claim the rumor mill within is all about Strahan as the ‘It’ guy. Stay tuned…
