Robert Pattinson did a guest appearance this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote his latest movie ‘Cosmopolis’ but the conversation quickly morphed into personal territory.
The ‘Twilight’ star was decidedly uncomfortable when GMA host George Stephanopoulos tried to get him to talk about his recent breakup with long-time girlfriend Kristen Stewart following her affair with film director Rupert Sanders.
George plunged with, “I know your performance in ‘Cosmopolis’ is gripping but I’ve got to get the elephant in the room out of the way. Everybody wants to know how you are doing and what do you want your fans to know about what’s going on in your personal life?”
Pattinson stammered, “Pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is irrelevant…. You go into it to do movies. I’ve never been interested in trying to sell my personal life.”
In an attempt to turn the conversation back to ‘Cosmopolis,’ the actor said, “The reason why I go onto TV is to promote movies.”
Asked if he ever gets used to the pandemonium, he offered: “If you start getting used to it, then you become crazy. It’s like being on the craziest theme park ride. Totally exciting, but eventually at some point, you’ve got to have a break.”
The popular actor has been hiding out at the beautiful Ojai ranch getaway owned by his former ‘Water For Elephants’ co-star Reese Witherspoon.
Stephanopoulos ended the encounter lamely by stating, “You seem to be doing okay.” The actor responded, “Yeah, yeah.”
