Charlie Sheen is leveraging the future success of his new show ‘Anger Management’ in an effort to make a hefty donation to the USO, with a guaranteed minimum pledge of $1 million.
The actor has promised to donate 1% of his personal earning from the new FX sitcom to the United Service Organization.
In what could be a real win-win, Sheen hopes the generous offer will help to drum up additional support for his new series. The percentage of ‘AM’ viewers dropped off dramatically after the back-to-back premiere episodes. Week two viewership was down 40 percent.
Air Force General John Pray, Jr., Executive VP and Joint Chief of Staff issued this statement: “Sheen’s support is greatly appreciated, especially for our wounded warriors and their families.”
Charlie commented, “It’s an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us. They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on ‘Anger Management’ can bring a little bit of relief to the troops.”
