Oprah Winfrey has placed one of her Chicago condominiums on the market for $2.8 million, taking a significant loss on the $5.6 million she paid for the unit in 2006.

The 4,607 square foot, 13-room Streeterville co-op is a three-bedroom unit on the sixth floor of a Benjamin Marshall designed Beaux-Arts-style building built in 1913. It has three full baths, two half baths, 10-foot ceilings, two fireplaces, an inner foyer, a library, a solarium, a formal dining room, a butler’s pantry, a wine room, a custom eat-in kitchen, a 1,241-square-foot master bedroom with his and hers bathrooms and an en-suite guest bedroom.

Oprah has never lived in the apartment, and had it on the market for $5,995,000 from June 2008 to January 2009. She put it up for lease last year at $15,000 a month.
