Kate cruise a no-go …
Kate Gosselin got another dose of reality when Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines canceled a planned tour event featuring the mother of eight.
The former Kate Plus 8 celeb struck a deal with the cruise line to guest host a summer sailing junket from August 12 to August 19 at a rate of $1,900-$3,175 per passenger.
We aren’t privy to just how many TLC groupies signed on for the ocean gig but the numbers were reportedly too low to move forward with the previously advertised tour opportunity.
A Royal Carribbean spokesman said: “Yes, that event has been canceled. We just didn’t get the turnout that we desired and mutually we agreed that if we didn’t get it, we would cancel. “
“All ticket purchasers have been notified and everyone has been refunded. Some have chosen to continue on with the cruise, but everyone was given the choice.”
The cruise line was quick to point out that it had nothing to do with her. They indicate Gosselin felt so bad that she asked for names, addresses and phone numbers of the passengers who received a refund because she plans to reach out to each of them personally.
Kate is currently a blogger for the internet website Coupon Cabin and lives in Wernersville, Pennsylvania with her 11-year-old twins Cara and Mady, and 8-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.
Her last brush with fame was a short-lived stint on Dancing with the Stars, an experience that still causes many of us flashback nightmares.
