Celebrity Apprentice aired back-to-back episodes during a three hour Trump extravaganza last night on NBC.
The two episodes spelled trouble for Debbie Gibson and Dee Snider who ended up hitting the streets of Manhattan at the end of some messy boardroom scenes. The real dynamics that drove the evening pitted Aubrey O’Day and Arsenio Hall, with additional self-righteous theatrics courtesy of comedian Lisa Lampanelli.
Toshiba sponsored the first task that had both teams photographing, writing and designing a New York Celebrity Guidebook and then raising money for charity by selling it on a NYC street corner.
Teresa Guidice lead Forte and Dee Snider managed Unanimous. Regis Philbin judged their content and determined that the women had the best looking book. When it came to bringing in their friends with deep pockets the men won the task by a mere $14 and were able to donate the entire $326,000 to the March of Dimes.
Guidice brought Dayana Mendoza and Debbie Gibson back to the boardroom, despite the fact that Aubrey O’Day raised the least money and would likely have been sent home. When the dust settled it was Gibson who got fired.
Her parting comment, “Mr. Trump can’t fire me from being Debbie Gibson so nothing is lost.”
For the next task the teams were shuffled. Aubrey and Teresa joined Unanimous with Arsenio Hall, Clay Aiken and Paul Teutel Sr. Lou Ferrigno, Dee Snider and Penn Jillette teamed up with Lisa Lampanelli and Trump protege Dayana Mendoza.
They created a live interactive health segment and membership kit package to support a ‘Walk With Walgreens’ ad campaign. The challenge was judged by Alison Sweeney of The Biggest Loser.
Lou led Forte and Arsenio managed Unanimous, but make no mistake … as usual it was Lisa calling all the plays for Ferrigno while Aubry nearly sent Hall over the edge with her one-woman grandstanding.
The task was won by Unanimous but that fact wasn’t revealed until O’Day and Arsenio clashed in the boardroom to the point where they both left the room wailing and gnashing. She stormed off alone and he boo-hooed to the rest of his team back in the suite, actually frightening Teresa with his obvious anguish.
Lou brought Dayane and Dee back to the boardroom. The experience was a first for Snider but the former Miss Universe warms a chair in that room on a weekly basis. So far she has remained solidly protected by The Donald. Snider was eliminated for his major role in designing the box for the membership kit that Walgreens exec’s hated.
Arseno won $50,000 for his charity, The Magic Johnson Foundation. The show ended with a commercial that has actually tied both Hall and Johnson into Walgreens new ad campaign.
The best moments of the show turned out to be the blowout between Aubrey and Arsenio. Check it out below:
