O: The Oprah Magazine has been a monthly publication since April 2000 and for the first time in the nearly 12 year history, a man will be featured on a cover with Oprah Winfrey.
Dr. Mehmet Oz and the veteran talk show maven grace the front of the January 2012 issue.
The pair met in 2003 when he invited her to appear as a guest on his Discovery Channel medical series Second Opinion. Oprah said, “Now here we are, over eight years later. What can I say? I adore Dr. Oz.”
She continued, “As we toast to a new year and encourage readers to take the first step toward a happier, healthier life, who better to help us get on the right path than my dear friend and America’s doctor, Dr. Oz.”
An interior feature article is titled Dr. Oz’s 28-Day Plan to Renew Your Body, Mind, and Soul. The January issue hits newsstands Dec. 13.
In other Oprah news, BFF Gayle King recently jumped the OWN Network ship and migrated to the CBS Early Show. That bombshell fueled speculation that the former fast friends were now on the outs. Talk show host Wendy Williams bought into the rumors until she received a personal note from Winfrey.
