The latest celebrity to be booted from a plane prior to takeoff is Alec Baldwin. The actor was asked to leave an American Airlines flight on Tuesday for refusing to turn off his iPad.
He was in the middle of a Words With Friends game while the plane was still on the ground when he was ordered by an attendant to cease and desist.
The situation caused the disgruntled actor to take his plight to Twitter:
He blew off the flight attendant’s requests to shut down his device. Not long afterward the actor got up to use the restroom and slammed the door so loudly that the captain of the plane heard it and called out to the staff to see what was going on. The lead pilot made the decision to boot Baldwin.
Baldwin’s camp claims the reason he got up from his seat was to get the flight attendant’s name so that he could file a complaint. Because the fasten seat belt sign was lite up, he was kicked off the flight for disobeying the cardinal rule of flight safety.
Alex boarded the next LAX/JFK flight available and continued tweeting:
Baldwin was so twirled up that he went on a three hour Twitter rant. We love Words With Friends as much as the next guy–but not enough to risk a boot causing travel delay. We were thinking that he must not have been in a rush to get to his destination, and then we remembered that he has a history of anger issues.
This guy took a serious media hit after he called his young daughter Ireland a “thoughtless little pig” during a cell phone rant that went viral in 2007.
He uploaded a photo that lends itself nicely to this post. Check it out below:
