NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finally stepped out in public with his girlfriend Amy Reimann. The couple hit the red carpet at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series award ceremony held Friday in Las Vegas.
The couple reportedly had an affair that broke up Reimann’s marriage to Kentucky football coach Tommy Cook. He played wide receiver for the Wildcats from 2000-2005 and married Amy, his cheerleader girlfriend, several years later.
Earnhardt met Reimann when she was doing interior design work at his home. Her marriage ended up on the rocks and she divorced Cook after a two year union.
Amy and Junior have been in a relationship for several years, but have not gone public until now. Could their red carpet appearance last Friday night signal a new phase in the relationship?
The NASCAR racer came in 11th in the season finale at Homestead, and finished 7th in the final points standings. Junior capped off the season by winning the Most Popular Driver award for the 9th consecutive time.
