Gaga, Jennifer Nettles killed it on stage, and Adele swept the top nods …

The nominees have been revealed for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. The event will be held on February 12, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and broadcast on CBS.

This year’s group of Grammy contenders were announced on November 30, 2011 on primetime during The GRAMMY Nominations Convert Live! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night extravaganza.

A total of 78 awards will be presented due to a restructuring of the Grammy Awards, with the elimination of 31 former categories.

Snagging the most Grammy nods was Kanye West, who is up for seven awards. The downside is that only one nomination was in an industry-wide category. Following closely behind with six nominations each are Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars.

The British songstress is in the spotlight, having picked up nods in the three most prestigious categories of record, album and song of the year for her album 21, with 4.7 million copies sold this year. She’s also up for best pop solo performance, pop vocal album and short-form music video.

Lil Wayne and Skrillex are vying for five each. Among those named in four categories are Drake, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

With three opportunities to capture awards are fan favorites Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

The performance of the evening was You and I by Lady Gaga and Sugarland. Check it out below:
