Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman are engaged after a three-year relationship that was slow to start but picked up steam after she got past some serious trust issues that were a carry over from a previously relationship.
The Oscar-nominated actress ended a four-year romance with Raffaello Follieri in mid-2008 after he was sent to prison for defrauding investors out of millions of dollars in a bogus real estate scheme.
Her fiance, an actor and businessman, is best known for his role as Deputy Enos Strate in the 2007 film The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. He graduated from Brown University with a theater degree in 2003 and made several appearances on the 2005 television series American Dreams.
Shulman, 30, recently co-founded a jewelry line with Heidi Nahser Fink, doing business as James Banks Design. Their new enterprise was featured in the April 2011 issue of Lucky Magazine.
The engagement sparkler is not one of his new company’s designs but he did provide input. According to Anne’s rep, her ring was designed, based upon his ideas, by Kwiat Heritage.
Hathaway, 29, has just wrapped her portrayal of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. The post-production flick will hit the big screen on July 20, 2012.
