In mid October E! host Giuliana Rancic underwent a double lumpectomy days after revealing she had breast cancer. Now the television personality is speaking out to share some of the details of her journey.
Giuliana told Parade.com, “I’m good. I’m hanging in there. I have good days and bad days.”
She was a “nervous wreck” before revealing her health issues, but the support she has received thus far, including encouragement from the Twitter community, has helped her through the hard times.
Rancic remarked, “I know it sounds so cliché, but I think it helped me recover quicker, and it got me in better spirits. The word I kept seeing over and over again was ‘strong.’ ‘Be strong. You’re strong.’ That word has never meant so much to me as it has this past month.”
The cancer tumor was discovered in the early stages during a doctor recommended mammogram as she was preparing to try a third round of IVF in order to conceive a baby.
Rancic is sure of one thing, “Early detection means so much. I want women to make sure they’re taking care of their health and being proactive.”
