On the eve of his final show on Live! With Regis & Kelly, veteran television host Regis Philbin sits down with Katie Couric for a special edition of 20/20.
The 80-year-old icon appears to be having separation anxiety even before the final show airs on Friday. His immediate plans involve a book signing tour for his new memoir How I Got This Way.
He’ll be in Miami on Monday morning when his old sidekick Kelly Ripa kicks off her temporary Live! With Kelly solo gig with the help of guest co-host Jerry Seinfeld. She’ll work with a rotating group of potential replacements until the right chemistry lands someone a permanent chair on the ABC morning show.
As for Reege, he plans to land back on television when the right opportunity comes along.
The wrinkle-free Philbin looks far younger than his biological age thanks to the wonders of plastic surgery. He and his youthful looking wife Joy have long been fans of the nip and tuck routine as evidenced by close up photos.
