Tennis star Anna Kournikova signed on to become a personal trainer on the NBC reality weight loss show The Biggest Loser: Battle of the Ages. With filming complete except for the finale, it has been revealed that her contract will not be extended for a second season.
This news will probably not come as a surprise to followers of the show. Her mild-mannered approach did not resonate with many of the morbidly obese contestants who expected to be pushed to their very limits.
Anna was assigned the 50 and older bunch. They whined and complained as she ineffectively tried to cajole them along. Midway through the competition, three of them have been eliminated.
It is unclear why the announcement is already being made with eight more episode yet to air.
Kournikova released a statement: “I enjoyed my time on The Biggest Loser ranch. Although I will not be returning as a trainer on season 13, I will always be a part of The Biggest Loser family and my commitment to bettering lives through health and fitness will continue.”
The other trainers are newcomer Dolvett Quince and veteran Bob Harper, who continues to achieve amazing results with those under his direction.
