Speaking out publicly for the first time, Gloria Cain is defending her husband Herman Cain against allegations that he sexually harassed women in the early 1990’s.

Appearing on Fox News channel, Mrs. Cain confided in Greta Van Susteren, “To hear such graphic allegations and know that would have been something that was totally disrespectful of her as a woman, and I know that’s not the person he is.”

In fact, Gloria Cain was emphatic that her husband “totally respects women.”

Things heated up for the Republican presidential candidate last week when Sharon Bialek, with the aid of her high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred, staged a news conference where she detailed a scenario of sexual advances that took place in a car with Cain when she was seeking help in finding a job.

The Cain’s have been married 43 years and have two children, Vincent and Melanie, and three grandchildren. He graduated from Morehouse College in 1967 and she graduated from Morris Brown College in 1968. She enjoyed a career as a teacher and librarian.
