Brad Pitt sat down for an interview with Australian 60 Minutes for a segment they have titled Being Brad. He shared a few startling revelations with reporter Tara Brown.
On the subject of how long he intends to act in movies, he was quick to say “three years.” It turns out he is getting far more pleasure from producing and developing stories. He’s also afraid that as his six kids get older, they’ll hold any movie flops against him.
The most interesting admission came when Brown asked the father of many if he is happy or unhappy. He replied, “I think happiness is overrated, truthfully. I do. I think sometimes you’re happy, sometimes you’re not. There’s too much pressure to be happy. I don’t know, I don’t really give a shit. I know I will be at times and I know I won’t be at times. Satisfied, at peace, those would be more realistic goals.”
Not willing to leave it there, the interviewer pushed a little harder, “So, is Brad Pitt content today?” He thought for a moment before admitting, “Content. OK, I will go with content. Uh, I dare say so. I probably won’t be next week.”
