Country musician Keith Urban will undergo throat surgery at the end of the month to remove a polyp on his vocal cords. The planned out-patient procedure will affect his schedule for the next few months.
The singer will limit his short term gigs to one-song engagements leading up to the surgery. The recuperation period following the polyp removal could be several months in duration.
His rep released this statement, “The surgery, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation.”
Urban has postponed his All For the Hall concert that was slated for January 18 in Nashville, a benefit for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The award-winning musician is married to actress Nicole Kidman. They have two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
