It has been three months since Amy Winehouse died in London at the age of 27. At an inquest held today, the St. Pancras coroner has ruled on the death.
With the family of the deceased singer in attendance, Suzanne Greenway labeled the death of Winehouse a “misadventure.”
The official report stated, “She had consumed sufficient alcohol, five times the legal limit, and the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and unexpected death.”
Police recovered three empty bottles of vodka at the death scene. After abstaining from alcohol for three weeks, the troubled singer succumbed to alcohol poisoning as a result of the binge episode. According to the official finding, the significant amount of alcohol ingested stopped her breathing and sent her into a coma.
The toxicology report indicated that there were no traces of illegal drugs in her system and her vital organs were in good health.
