Week two of Dancing with the Stars had eleven remaining contestants and their pro partners performing either the Jive or the Quick Step.
At the top of the leaderboard after performing a racy Jive are Ricki Lake and Derek Hough, who were awarded 23 by the judges. Len, the least impressed member of the panel, thought it was laced with too many “underarm parties.”
Tied at 22 are Kristin Cavallari and J.R. Martinez. The former Hills actress was quite stunning in her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe. Her makeup was flawless and the glam look was spot on. Len, ever the party-pooper, decided that her performance “wasn’t as good as you look.”
This was J.R.’s second strong performance with pro Karina Smirnoff. Their Jive had a couple of significant flaws. Carrie cited them for an illegal lift and Len decided it was more like a Lindy Hop. Bruno loved everything about it, as evidenced by the 8 he awarded the performance.
The 21 spot on the leaderboard is crowded with four contestants: Elisabetta Canalis, Chynna Phillips, Rob Kardashian and Nancy Grace.
Canalis, an Italian beauty with a hot temper, has been struggling with her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy. They pulled it together and performed a Quick Step that the judges agreed was solid enough to earn 7’s across the board.
Phillips and Tony Dovolani danced the Jive. Though solid, the judges thought she was “playing it safe.”
Kardashian and Cheryl Burke performed a lively Jive to Surfin’ Safari by the Beach Boys. Rob has body issues and refused to go shirtless because of his man boobs. With three overbearing sisters who keep him firmly surrounded in their family bubble, we aren’t really that surprised.
Legal eagle Nancy got mixed scores for her Quick Step with new pro Tristan MacManus. He had his hands full dealing with a partner who lacks confidence for the first time in her high profile life. Carrie only deemed the routine worthy of a 6, while Len handed out a rare 8.

Four celebrity performers are in the cellar and could be heading home tonight:
Landing at 19 with their Jive were soccer star Hope Solo and her partner Maks Chmerkovskiy. While capable and strong, the athlete has been dividing her time between her sport and DWTS, and the judges were critical of the lack of commitment to the ABC show.
Tied at 18 were David Arquette and Carson Kressley. The Jive performed by the Scream actor and his partner Kym Johnson showed enthusiasm but the judges thought it was a little too loose. Len actually called it “wild and frantic.”
Kressley and his partner Anna Trebunskaya entertained the crowd with a “wobbly” Quick Step. Len got a laugh when he observed, “If I held my knife and fork like you held Anna, I’d starve to death.”
At the bottom of the leaderboard this week at 17 is Chaz Bono. He and pro partner Lacey Schwimmer had to slow down their Quick Step and pull out all of the difficulty because Cher‘s son is suffering from severe knee, ankle and foot pain. Len, unimpressed by the situation, gave them a lowly 5.
Will Bono be sent packing on Tuesday night’s elimination show? Between grimaces, Chaz half-heartedly claimed that he would be happy to stay on and continue the journey. We weren’t convinced and couldn’t help wondering if we’re seeing a whiner in action.
