It’s not often that Justin Timberlake can walk the streets unnoticed. The entertainer did just that recently, enjoying a few hours of anonymity at Comic-Con in San Diego.
He was actually in town to promote his Sci-Fi flick In Time, but Justin enjoyed an afternoon dressed up as the character Ernie from Sesame Street… and nobody was the wiser.
Timberlake and Esquire magazine journalist Chris Jones showed up at Comic-Con dressed at Bert and Ernie. Strange hook up? Actually not because Justin will appear on the cover of Esquire’s October issue.
While at the San Diego Convention Center the two disguised men got plenty of attention, with crowds lined up to be photographed with the iconic characters.
Timberlake said, “I kept forgetting, when people asked to take a picture it was because I was Ernie. It was not because of me.”
Chris really wanted Timberlake to surprise his unsuspecting fans by getting rid of the mask, but he would have none of it, “No way, dude. You have no idea what it’s like.”
Seldom does the actor get the chance to be incognito, though he admits, “I can sometimes walk around New York if I dress the right way, but that’s it.”
Timberlake admitted, “You’re witnessing one of the most memorable days of my life.”
